Is your boyfriend Vegan?

This is one question I get asked so much. Is he vegan? Would you date a non-vegan? Is it difficult living with non-vegans?

The very short answer is.... NO.

He is not vegan he is Vegetarian. And surprisingly enough, I did not make him change his eating choices, he did it on his own! I have been vegan for two years and some change. When I decided to make this big switch, he was so sweet and decided to make some lifestyle changes himself, and so he cut out meat from his diet completely!

It has been two years now, and given the way that I am as a person, I am constantly pushing him to make better dietary choices, as well as other lifestyle changes like using a non-fluoride toothpaste, and using a natural deodorant that does not contain aluminum (amongst many other endocrine-disrupting chemicals)... Things like that.

It is process, but I do believe that if you truly love a person, you should try your best to push them toward better health. In my opinion, loving someone involves putting their health first and pushing them to be a better version of themselves.

When I met David, neither one of us were vegan/vegetarian, but we have both come along way, and we will continue to grow together in the direction towards optimal health and overall vitality!

I want to end this by saying, You can not preach compassion for all beings, and yet lack that same compassion and unconditional love for your partner (or any person) simply because they do not share the same lifestyle choices as you do. It is a learning process, and though I do wish my partner were on the same page as I am, we can not change a person, or force a person to be what WE want them to be.

Never stop influencing your partner if he or she is not plant-based/Vegan, there is of course, SO much to learn. It is important to set a good example for them.

When they see YOU flourishing and thriving on this lifestyle, they will want to help you grow, and in turn, experience the same sense of bliss as you!
